The El Dorado Hills Area Planning Advisory Committee is hosting the El Dorado County Planning Department Long Range Planning open house for the El Dorado Hills Community Design Standards.
This is an opportunity for El Dorado Hills residents to participate and provide feedback for the EDH Community Design Standards project that will help define design standards for commercial, multi-family, and mixed-use projects in El Dorado Hills.

Please stop by and help EDH APAC and other El Dorado Hills residents provide input on what future El Dorado Hills Commercial, Multi-Family, and Mixed-Use Developments will look like.
Exhibits and comment forms will be available for El Dorado Hills residents to provide input in the second draft of the County’s proposed El Dorado Hills Community Design Standards. It only takes a few minutes to provide your feedback.
This process will develop OBJECTIVE design standards and guidelines for multifamily, commercial, and mixed use development in El Dorado Hills (NOT single family home development). With OBJECTIVE design standards and guidelines allows the County to have some allowance of project approval for State Mandated Ministerial housing projects. Mixed use/multifamily development is currently allowed by State law on commercial zoned property, regardless of what a county, or city, allows.
Objective design standards and guidelines will allow for project streamlining as long as a project complies with the design standards. If a proposed State of California Ministerial project does not meet the established Objective Design Standards, then the project has to follow a normal project review process through the County Planning Department.
There are over 50,000 residents in El Dorado Hills, larger than the City of South Lake Tahoe and the community of Cameron Park combined. We are the largest population center in El Dorado County.
Our community needs more than a few dozen members to provide input into our Community Design Standards and Guidelines. This is small opportunity, but an opportunity none the less, for El Dorado Hills to control some small aspect of future development.
