| AGENDA ITEM | Planning and Building Department, Planning Division, Long Range Planning unit, hosting a joint informational workshop for the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission on the 2021-2029 Housing Element Public Review Draft. The Housing Element Update provides a review of the County’s housing inventory using the General Plan land use designation; a review of the goals, policies, financial resources, and necessary revisions to implement measures to reflect changes in local, state and federal law; along with a review of the success in meeting the prior goals and objectives. (No formal action will be taken.) FUNDING: General Fund and California Department of Housing and Community Development Local Government Planning Support Grants Program, Regional Early Action Planning Grants. Public Comment: A. Nevis, K. Payne, J. McGinnis, J. Gainsborough, N. Yanish, D. Williams, C. Lishman, Galaxy S20, D. Murillo A motion was made by Supervisor Thomas, seconded by Supervisor Novasel to direct staff, utilizing the Sacramento Area Council of Government’s assistance as needed, to bring forward a presentation on Green Means Go so that this Board may understand how this initiative might provide a helpful tool in achieving the County’s housing goals, specifically Missing Middle Housing, as identified in the County’s 2021-2029 Housing Element as well as how the program might be helpful in reinventing outdated commercial corridors.
